Intel Premier Support

Hello,

I have an issue trying to upgrade a compiler using the pacakge w_fcompxe_ia32_2011.11.344.exe. The details of my trouble seem in keeping with a query to Intel Premier Support. However, I can't get to the login screen. I get the following as soon as I click on the link:

"We were unable to authenticate your access to the Intel Premier Support web site. Please check that your login ID and password were entered correctly and that the URL used was "https://premier.intel.com"."

Iwonder if I am getting an incorrect password automatically and immediately enteredfollowed by the expected rejection message. I tried deleting history and cookies etc to prevent that - but may have missed the point. Anyway, so far, no good.

It has been some time since I had occasionto get Intel Premier Support. So I got a temporary password assigned by clicking on theforgot password link. Only I don't get to use it. The suggestion that I contact quadsupport@mailbox.intel.com via e-mail has brought no response so I thought I'd try here.

I can't find anyone else has had this problem - but can you suggest a remedy?

First of all, product updates are not at Intel Premier Support - they used to be, years ago, but not now. Instead they are at the Intel Software Development Products Registration Center (https://registrationcenter.intel.com/)

I see that you do have a current license and that your Intel Premier Support account is good too. So you are getting an error trying to visit https://premier.intel.com before you type in anything? Or are you following a link with some other parameters?

The first is true. I get a "failure to identify" message before I get to type an ID and password. I tried entering https:\\premier.intel.comfrom scratch so that noother parameters would affect it.

I have since googled an answer to my install issue. However, I may need to contact Premier supportagain some dayand so would like to fix this for future reference. It is likely that I did shoot myself in the foot somehow by answering affirmatively to a question about getting Internet Explorer to remember a password. Still, I would not expect to be unable to over-ride if itshould bewrong.

Even if you asked your browser to remember a password, you would have to submit the login form. I suggest that you delete all intel.com cookies in your browser and try again.

Steve,

Just in case someone else should ask you a similar question, the root cause seems to have been my login here under the user name Groundsel vs the attempted login(on the same computer) to Premier support using my e-mail address. I have to logoff here to logon there.

I was surprised to see my login here survive the passage of significant time. Anyway, it is a matter easily addressed when one knows how.

Cheers!
Tom
