I want to buythe new Composer XE 2011 with IMSL that was just released according to your post. Where can I get it? This item is not listed on the Intel site pageto buy or renew products(or the software evaluation center), so I don't know which resellers (if any) actually have it.
Thanks.
Thanks.

It won't be in the Evaluation Center as we are not able to offer evaluations of IMSL. I have asked our business managers about the reseller/Intel Store isue and will reply here when I have an answer.

Thank you for checking for me. Specifically, we are going to want to buy it using Academic pricing for the lab I work in at a University.

Steve,
I read through the IMSL licence info and the FAQ's but it was not clear what the installation limits are for developers. I only generate software for me but I work on both my office, home and laptop computers. Intel has been generous about allowing multiple installations for a single user but what about IMSL?
Thanks

You may install the product on multiple computers for your development use. But you will need additional deployment licenses to run an IMSL application on additional computers.

Intel Visual Fortran Composer XE with IMSL can now be purchased from the Intel Software Store here. It will likely be moving to a separate page because the current page is confusing with the mixture of the floating licenses for Composer XE (without IMSL) and some of the run-time licenses for IMSL. I expect it to also be available from resellers worldwide in the coming weeks.

Is it possible to incorporate video into a program with Visual Fortran Composer XE 2011 (with IMSL)? I've never tried it before with Fortran at all and wasn't sure if it is even possible.
Thanks,

Yes, I think so. One way would be a dialog box that hosts a media player ActiveX control. There are probably others. I have not tried this myself.

Hi Steve,
Sorry to keep flogging this issue but It is really important to me. Over the weekend i cleaned all VS and fortran products from my home machine and installed VS 10 professional and Visual Fortran Composer XE 2011 with IMSL 6.0. There is now no view array button on the debug menu or context menu but under the the tools>customization menu option there is a generic icon labeled Array Visualizer. I added this to the Debug menu and it is unresponsive. This also occured if I used the VS 10 shell install. All the usual install tasks were done like updating the tools>fortran>compilers windows to include AV in the library and include lists.
Previously, on this machine AV crashed VS and I would like to make sure I can get back to that point with VS 10 before I update my office machine where AV does work. Perhaps one of your repair integration programs for VS 10 is required.
Some other info:
1. as I noted, AV samples compile and work on all my machines for all versions of VS and IVF
2. AV works fine as a stand alone program. For example Fits files are used extensively in Astronomy and AV can read them. The .fits extension is assigned to AV and if I double click on any Fits file on my machine AV will open and display it. The only non-functioning AV capability is viewing arrays while debugging.

Steve,
is it clear when update 7 (Linux) will be released?
[We have been affected by a bug in pdtran for more than a year now - since after Intel Fortran 11.0 - which to my knowledge should be fixed in update 7. It would be a great relief to have an official Intel release to point to for a solution.]
best wishes

Steve,
Follow up on the VS issue:1. I took a chance an installed VS2008 pro on my office machine and integrated update 6 with IMSL of IVF. AV continues to work.
2. The disappearance of the View Array button in VS 2010 occurred between update 5 and 6 of IVF.
3. Interestingly, with VS2010 Pro and updates 1-5 of the Fortran composer installed AV does not crash VS. It opens a window and seems to have a graphics problem with the backgorund.
4. If I execute the file
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio10.0\Intel Fortran\VFPackages\integrate.bat
the graphics problem goes away and VS opens a blank, well bejaved window without crashing VS.
5. I believe your earlier VS repair tools corrected the action of this bat file and a similar repair may be needed for VS 2010.
So I guess the questions are:
1. Can I run update 5 and the new IMSL?
2. Since VS 2010 and IVF are actually closer to running AV than before, whose kneecaps need adjustrment to get this bug fixed? Developers who talk only through you and aren't exposed to their customers rants may not be the most productive business model one can think of.
3. Since I have one system where AV works and one where it doesn't can I offer this as a useful tool to figure out what is going on?

Yes, you can use Update 5 and the new IMSL.
I will see what I can find out about AV, but don't get your hopes up. But I won't have time to do this for a couple of weeks, at least (I am out of the office next week.)

Thanks for the answer. I see the release notes online now but not a downloadable product (from our organization's supported account, that is). Has the version been released? Sorry to ask again ...

Yes, it was released in September on the day I started this thread. It may be that your support license has expired - if you need help with this, please ask in our Download, Registration and Licensing forum section.

(Sorry about the misunderstanding, I was still referring to update 7, as in the post that I replied to. It is absolutely possible that there is something amiss in our access to that release, that is why I was following up on the original question. There is a discrepancy between the available release notes and the actually available releases, and I have not been able to assert what is the reason for the difference.)

Oh, sorry. Update 7 should be posted any day now. Maybe even later today. I generally post the release notes a couple of days in advance.
