If there were an award for most petty request, this might take the prize...
Under CVF, I can right-click on the name of a Fortran include'd file to get an option to open the file (assuming it's on my path). I don't know if this is default, or if I configured it somehow. Too many years have passed.
This behavior seems to be disabled by default for the IVF integration with DevStudio. Can I turn it on? (I'd consider some sort of VB hack as a solution.)
I noticed this almost immediately upon installing IVF and I have resisted saying anything until now, on the grounds that it seems kind of petty and I might not miss it after a while. Well, it is petty, and I still miss it. :)
Thanks for your consideration.

I didn't even know this feature existed in CVF until someone mentioned that it was missing on the Intel side. I don't know of a way to enable this - please file a feature request with Intel Premier Support.

Thanks. Logged with Premier Support. This feature is curiously addictive for me; the withdrawl symptoms are ugly.

Let me suggest that you add your include files under "Header Files" in the file view. Then you can open them easily. I will file my own feature request to have these added automatically, as they were in CVF.

Thanks, Steve. I've been doing that for years, and people say I'm crazy. I like your idea of having them added automatically. Count me in for that!

I've raised that issue with IPS long time ago . FYI, the answer was that the feature is about to be included in IVF 9.0 version, nowin beta stage. The IPS issue number is 255966.

Jugoslav
P.S. I'll be around for the next two weeks.

Jugoslav:
That's very interesting, and I am glad to hear it. I also have a Premier Support number (306674) for this issue, opened just last week. Current status is 'investigating,' but hopefully it will be resolved in 9.0!
Thanks!

It does work in 9.0 - I tried it yesterday. You don't have too much longer to wait.

Woo hoo! I could not have faulted the IVF team for deciding that this request simply wouldn't make the cut. So please convey my sincere thanks. This is one more instance of a very response pattern!
