Parallel Studio -- now CVF / DFDev won't run?

I recently added some/most of the Parallel Studio apps to my computer. This morning I opened one of my CVF projects and if I try to "add files", I get an exception and it folds.

I also tried a new project under CVF and it crashed when trying to add files.

I know there isn't a forum or support for CVF anymore -- I was just wondering if it was a consequence of adding the parallel studio apps or something else. Any ideas appreciated.

Something else. Visual Studio 98 doesn't work at all on recent Windows versions, or is flaky. I am not aware that installing any of the Intel developer tools does anything to the system that would affect CVF or Visual Studio.

Understood that (about newer Windows versions). This is Windows XP. Had been running this Developer Studio fine until now. I did just load Office 2010 on this machine as well.

Guess I better check if my VB6 apps still work there.
