Hi,
I followed the instructions posted by Ronald (http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/using-intel-compilers-for-linux-with-ubuntu/) to install 9.1 compilers in ubuntu 9.1..
When I install as a user (not root) it installs okay to my home directory. However when I install as root per the instruction given, it fails.
I get the following message --->
Where do you want to install to? Specify directory starting with '/'. [/opt/intel/cce/9.1.053] :
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Substitute Headers for Intel C++ Compiler for Intel EM64T-based applications, Version 9.1 (9.1.053)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Intel C++ Compiler for Intel EM64T-based applications, Version 9.1 (9.1.053)

Installation failed.

Does anybody know why? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Senu

Intel Fortran 9.1 does not support Ubuntu at all. Ron's article was for current compiler versions. Only compiler version 11.1 supports Ubuntu 9.04.
