I received the notice announcing Update 4 but I am having a problem during the installation:
I get a message saying
The following application should be closed before continuing the install:
- FLEXnet Connect Software Manager
I checked task manager and closed a process that seems to match the description (some Intel License utility; running wth SYSTEM as user; sorry I did not note the name), but this did not help.
This has not happened with previous updates. AFAIK, nothing else has changed in this computer since the previous update.
I would appreciate any suggestion? What is the name of the executable I should terminate?
Thanks,
Gabriel

I also received strange error messages after installation of update 4. I deinstalled all previous versions, and reinstalled update 4 again. And everything was back to normal operation.

I've run into the requirement to remove prior versions, which is strange considering that update 4 is an exact replacement with no upgrades from update 3 except for the ability to integrate with VS2015. Maybe they should have told us there is no use for update 4 unless changing Visual Studio.

Thanks to all who responded.
I removed all earlier versions of Composer (did not remove other utilities such as VTune), including the 2016 Beta. Still, no luck.
I just contacted Premier Service

The particular message about Flexnet Connect might be solved by a reboot.

Steve,
Thanks. I have tried that (the universal solution to PC problems), but it does not help.
I am trying to install Update 3 in order to have a workable compiler (it is downloading now).
Thanks,
Gabriel
