How do I change the e-mail address in my profile (for notifications that are e-mailed to me)?

The way I think it works is this. Click on the orange "Intel Developer Services Home" button on the left. On the IDS home page, below the orange button, should be a Profile button. If not, click the log-in button and log in, then click Profile. There is a link to edit your profile, including the e-mail address.

Now the possible catch is that the forum system is somewhat separate from the IDS registration system, though it does use IDS for authentication. I suggest doing a Reply to bring up the reply screen, then cancel out of that by clicking on the forum name - this should re-synch your profile. Verify this by clicking on your name in the "Welcome, your-name" display.

I have always wondered why some posts - such as yours have "From: Nashua NH" while others have this blank.
I could not see anything in the profiles that controls this.

Ah, that's in the forum-specific profile. Click on your username to go to the profile page, then at the bottom, click on the Edit Your Profile button.

Thanks Steve, that seemed to work.

I asked about changing my profile.
I have clicked on my name, I get a page with my User Profile, a list of Recent Messages and a button at the bottom to Go Back -nothing to edit my profile!

I must be in the wrong place.

David,

You need to be "logged in" in the forum to do this. Towards the top of the page, just below the orange horizontal line, it should say "Welcome, davidgraham [Log-out]". If it doesn't, click Reply to get to a login prompt, finish the login, and then when you are returned to the forum, click on "Fortran for Windows* and Visual Fortran" to get back to the main forum page. Now click on your name after "Welcome" and you should see a "Edit my profile" button at the bottom.

I know this is clunky...

Dear Steve,

When I tried to save the changes I made in my "preference settings", I got the message that my "user display name" was in use already, and that I should choose a new one. How do I change my "preference settings" while keeping my name? (And: how do I upload an atavar which resides on my local hard disk?)

Yours sincerely,

I've seen that error before but don't remember the solutuon - I have asked our forum support people for help.

Is there not an "Avatar" tab under Preferences?
