QuickWin and disabling windows red x

I'm developing an IVF program for windows 7 platform. I need a way to either disable the red x that closes the program window, or capture it so I can close the program gracefully. I don't see any way in QuickWin to do it.

Is there a way to do what I want still using QWin?

Can I call an API?

If so, which one?

I appreciate the help.
