Steve:

Well my licence ran out a few weeks ago, been trying to get the accounting types to pay Intel for a renewal.

Still waiting.

But this morning I got a nice email from Intel to say did I want to take part in the BETA trail of 2013. Never one to shy away from a challenge I said yes.

Downloaded the program and it integrated with VS 11 and ran a sample code.

Steve:

1. Is it intended to run with VS 11?
2. Is it safe or do I need protection?

Thanks

Normally, the beta test restrictions you are asked to agree to exclude discussion on the forum. Any differences from the released version ought to be discussed in the release notes.

As Tim suggests, the release notes have the answers to your questions. Please read them carefully.

Guys:

I went through the email with the licence, the documentation introductions and followed the links on your welcome page, which point to a page that has links to the forums.

No restrictions, even says help is avialble from premier support.

You must have this restriction buried deeper than I can see and I do not remember seeing it whenI signed up.

In the release notes:

Package ID: w_ccompxe_2013_beta.0.027 w_ccompxe_p_13.0.0.027

This package contains:

Intel C++ Compiler XE 13.0 Pre-Release (Beta) for Windows*

Please use the above information when submitting customer support requests.

Note: If your distributor provides technical support for this product, please contact them for support rather than Intel.

You need a valid license to use this product.

Seems to allow access to you guys. So what am I missing?

Thanks

There is no restriction. But please use Intel Premier Support for all questions and issues regarding the beta.

No sweat Steve: there is very little chance with my Fortran skills I will test out the limits of the new Fortran.

Premiere is that a special service for the elite or can mere academics of little brains join? (taking of WTP)

Intel Premier Support is 1-to-1 web-based support. Anyone with a current license (excluding Linux non-commercial and Student, but including Evaluation) has access to Premier Support. Anyone in our beta program has access and is strongly encouraged to use Premier Support for beta issues and questions.

Steve:

You are without a doubt the best Fortran support available. However I will do as directed, far be it from me to stand in the road of the Intel juggernaut.
