Renewal License File Question

Steve:

I have received a new license file for my Fortran Compiler renewal and have a question regarding the installation instructions. The instructions say:

1. Save the attached license file to your system. NOTE: DO NOT MODIFY THE .lic EXTENSION.

2. If you already have the latest product update installed, simply replace your original license file with your new license file. This completes the license update.

I do have the latest update installed so my question is:

1. do I rename the new license file name to be the same as the old file name or
2. do I copy the new license file to the machine and delete the old license file or
3. do I copy the new license file to the machine and also keep the old file present
4. Some other variation

Sorry for being so dense but this is the first time I have had a renewal and I don't want to mess up the license files......

Thanks

Ed. Raney

P.S. I sent an email via the email link but have not received a reply so thought I'd post here....

You are not being dense Ed.

1. No, just leave the file name as it is

2. Yes, just copy the new license to the system. You can leave the old license on the system or remove it. If you leave it, rename it to have some non .lic suffix, like .lic_sav to avoid the compiler always checking the file for a valid license.

3. See answer 2
4. See answer 2

Keep us posted.
