Selecting an editor within the IDE

I have always used a text editor called KEDIT when writing code. I would dearly love to be able to specify KEDIT as my text editor within the IDE. Since the next visual fortran will use ms visual studio for it's IDE I take it that specifying an external application as the IDE text editor it is totally out of your hands?

Also, if we already have vb.net would that ide work for the new vf or would we need to add vc++?
