'System.NullReferenceException' error

When I used Visual basic.net 2003 to call a VF dll, I got a error message
'System.NullReferenceException' ocurred in system.windows.forms.dll
Additional information:Object reference not set to an instance of an object. I used the sample code from compaq website, it should be correct. Could any expert tell me the reason?
