I just ran into this thread concercerning FlexLM errors with Visual FORTRAN. As you might suspect, because I am having the EXACT SAME Issue. The only response to the thread was from an Intel Employee (Steve Lionel), and basically consisted of "RTFM". Under the best of circumstances, that is not helpful. From an employee of the Vendor of the Product, it is at least one step over the line. If you simply do not want to answer the question, DON'T.
If any of my staff EVER answers a question with "RTFM", they would need to start looking for other job opportunities.
This forum should not be dedicated to showing off your presumed superiority. You got nothing useful to add, don't add it.

I just searched the forum for references to Flexlm and there are 91.
You didn't say which thread you were looking at (and therefor which problem you are having).

Please point me to the post where I said this. It is not the sort of response I usually give. Please also give us more details about the problem you're having so we can help.

Firstly, which thread is "this thread"? "EXACT SAME Issue" as what? Unlikely the same as any one of the nnn posts (Les Neilson says nnn=91) that pertain to FlexLM, since they fall into several different categories.
Secondly, I think that "RTFM", where F stands for Fortran or Flexera, with helpful pointers to which sections/chapters to consult, is the answer that is the best response to many inquiries. In fact, I wish that the Intel personnel here would use that answer every time that it is appropriate, since that would free them up to answer the more difficult questions that benefit from their expertise.
These forums are most helpful in solving problems that are more arcane or too technically involved or issue/platform/OS-specific to be covered in the FM. If you are eligible for Premier Support, that's probably where more hand-holding may be expected.
Steve Lionel has an exemplary record spanning several decades, At DEC/COMPAQ/INTEL and on comp.lang.fortran on Usenet. He has always been polite, knowledgeable and helpful. Before I would level harsh criticism at him, I would make sure of the evidence, look in the mirror, and give him a chance to respond to the specific issue at hand.
We are still waiting for you to define the problem.
