Hi all,
I am not sure to be at the right place except that my question is related to a Visual Fortran project.
I have a Visual Fortran project createdwith Visual studio 2005 (Intel Composer XE Intel Visual Fortran Compiler XE 12.1.1.258 [IA-32]).
This project contains text files that I need to manipulate to include them in the executable (dll) resources.
I have added these files in the project and created a custom build step for them.
Everything seems to be Ok when I build the solution or the project but I cannot "compile" these files individually (as it was possible in CVF), the Compile icon is not available and the contextual menu for these files does not have a "Compile" option.
Is there any way to compile individually, files with a custom build step ?
Best regards,

I'm surprised you could "compile" these in CVF. As a custom build step, it runs when you do a project build.

I Steve,
I can say without hesitation that it works with CVF because I am still using these projects (I am currently converting them to VS2005+IVF) and I have noticed this behavior. Note that I have created manually the new projects instead of converting them using the VS/IVF wizard. I don't know if there is an option somewhere in the VS where you can declare whichadditional files that are compilable ? or can have a custom build contextual menu command.
Best regards,

I guess this is another difference between VS6 and later versions. I can't find a way to have a custom build step run independently.

Thanks,
I guess I should do with (until maybe someday this possibility will be added).
