working on our large code, one of our developers cannot get the code to compile on update 7 without dumming down the /o2 to /od -- internal compiler errors abound.
while i -- working on the same code and same platform and presumably same switches, have had no problems. (other than aforementioned ones that cropped up in update 6).
Any ideas?

Perhaps something unusual in his PATH?

I wondered if he might be installing multiple versions whereas I always just install over the previous -- as I could just as easily use the previous update if I didn't like the current one.
He's looking into that.
Because otherwise, no essential differences that we can see.

Linda,
I would definitely have him check his PATH. With multiple installs he may have reached his limit on the PATH lenght and truncating some directories from Update 7.
