Firstly apologies if these arequestions for which the information is readily avialable....I just spent the last 30 minutes looking for the answers and failed!

I have prevously used CVF and Intel Fortan 11.1 in MS developer studio and am familliar with that enviroment. I was wanting to purchase composer xe 2011 but I believe the developer studioenviroment is not bundled with this product. My questions relating to Composer xe2011are:

1) Does this have a 'workbench' envoroment like DS included and if so where can I find some informaion on this?

2) Does this have all the necessary compopnets for windows and quickwin application building or are other componets needed such as third party resource editors.

Best Regards & Happy New Year!
Andrew

If you used 11.1, then Composer XE 2011 (12.0) will look the same. It includes the same VS2008 Shell that 11.1 does, and if youi use that shell, it still requires an external resource editor. Just think of this as version 12 and not a whole new product.

Many thanks for the fast resposnse Steve, that answers my questions, and Iwill go ahead and buy a copy shortly.

Are there any recommended/suggested resource editor/compilers for use with your product?

A quick point of note:it might be useful to others if the sales & marketing team noted that VS2008 shell is bundled. Somwhere in the 'features tab' of the products perhaps? The fact it is not there lead me to belive it was not bundled.

Best Regards

The resource editor I usually suggest is ResEdit, which is freeware. You don't need a resource compiler - that is provided. Microsoft doesn't let us ship its resource editor which it considers part of the Visual C++ product.

I will look at the marketing material and suggest changes if needed - thanks for the tip.
