do I need to have 11.0 or some previous 11.1 installed to have update 5 working?

Hi

I tried to install update 5 to 11.1 but after installation was complete, I found that there was no fortran project in the visual studio. However, the command prompt was there; I did not test if things actually compiled; just saw if it is under the program menu and if it launches.

Thus, it looks like the integration with VS got messed up. I am currently doing the uninstall/re-install circus.

I had removed all previous 11.* versions. Do I need these? i.e. may be when I uninstalled these flavors (I had kept all since 11.0) I accidently got rid of a package that is required for integration with the VS.

Uninstall + Re-Install finally did the trick.

I know it would very much specific to my system but just an FYI: I ran into a few different installation errors. Some of these are: (i) after the installation display said that it has finished installaing all the packages, it came back with error saying that VS is still running when no other application was running, (ii) See attached snapshot, (iii) when installer was trying to remove the update due to failed installation it hung up. I had to restart the computer, (iv) the install was complete but there was no VS integration as mentioned in the original post.

In all of these, after a few few attempts, I was trying to install when absolutely no other application was running. Of course, that does not mean task manager was showing no process. In fact, in one instance when the installer complained that the VS was running, I did find vs.exe in the task manager. I manually killed it.

I find that syntax coloring etc is lost for files of type .f95 .f03. These were working fine before; I still have these extensions are under Tool->Options-> IVF-->General-->free format. But when a file is opened or saved with f95 as extension, it loses syntax coloring.
