when using the idb debugger i'm finding that after starting the debugger that my commands disappear a letter at a time as I type them.

i.e. as I type the run command, when I type 'u' the r letter dissapears, then when I type 'n', the 'u' letter dissappears.

Is there some environment variable/shell setting that I need to set to stop this ?
