need help with Microsoft Developer Studio

Irecently had to switch from Compaq VisualFortran to Microsoft developer Studio(4.0) for compiling my code written in Fortran and I get error "FOR1533 - bad module file format", whenI try to compile the code.I really appreciate if you let me know what the problem is and how I can solve it?
