This problem (Reply function) was exactly what I reported here:

http://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/showthread.php?t=71215

"Preview" also was not working.

Now both seem to be working fine.

Go figure ...

The forum software has been completely rewritten. Apparently there are some bugs despite the testing we did. Please let me know the URL of a thread you can't reply to.

Hmm - my first attemp at replying to this post failed. Apologies if it re-appears & results in a double post.

FWIW I am not able to reply to this thread (no reply button visible).

FWIW I am not able to reply to this thread (no reply button visible).

That thread doesn't work for me either, for what it's worth.

By the way/is there a "preferences/options" link somewhere? For example, 10 threads on the front page is way too little, and my signature is gone (yet again).

When I access the forum I like to start with the oldest unread thread then I click on "Previous" which now seems to take me on a random walk through the other forums :MKL, C++, Threading, Manageabilty Software Development etc. Occasionally it takes me to the actual previous thread :-)

We no longer have Steve's smiling face at the top of the forum andthe postershandsome visages next to the threadare missing. ( I like to be reminded of how good I looked at my daughter's wedding, beforemiddle age spread set in )
Hovering the mouse over the thread starter's name displays a popup of the face (if available) of the last poster to the thread.

I use IE8

additional thinks i do not like in the new form

- number of threads i can see on one page , i would like to change the number

- if i change to a other forum page by clicking on a page number at the bottom of a page the new page is presented also at the bottom of a page

- if i start a new tap in firefox entering the start page (http://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/intel-visual-fortran-compiler-for-windows/) i am ending up at the same page as the existing tab (eg forum page 7 bottom)

Another extremely trivial issue - a mouseover of the original poster's name on the main topic list brings up the graphic (photo id, whatever) associated with the latest poster in the thread, not the OP.

Edit: well, that got fixed within an hour or so, nice work. However, the mouseover on the main page brings up the info in a huge font, whereas on the listing page the info is in the usual small size.

What's wit the 'by2' before the poster's name?

The reply problem is said to be fixed. Please let me know if you think otherwise.

I don't see a "by2".

Hello Steve,

i have found an other problem.

if i quote the post, i cannot set the cousor below it to write a post.

if i start writing a few words, then add the quote, i can set the cousor below the qoute. but if i remove the quote after writing, my post is gone.

The problem of your text going away when you turn off the quote appears to be fixed. I had seen that myself. The one about not being able to position the cursor is not yet fixed.

in the meantime you can get around the cursor placement issue by toggling off html, which is what i am doing now. one thing i am seeing is that, no matter whom you quote, it always fills in the user name of the thread starter, as this reply demonstrates.

The "missing reply link" issue should now be fixed.
