In an the answer to Forall's question ( operation timing)
Mr Steve suggested using a profiler.
I have some apps I would like to run faster, and "hot spots" catched my eye. I would like to know what is and how to get a profiler. I am using CVF Professional Edition 6.6 .

The profiler is provided with CVF. See the Programmer's Guide as well as the Visual C++ User Manual for Visual Fortran for more details.
