Hello ... first of all I am a total newbie so please be gentle!
I'm running a batch file and get the following error LINK : fatal error LNK1181: cannot open input file 'ws2_32.lib'. (see attachement for screen dump) As I understand adding C:Program FilesIntelFortrancompiler80IA32LIB to the LIB system environment variable LIB should solve this. Am I right in thinking this because when I do it nothing changes I still get the error. However if I move ws2_32.lib to the directory I'm running the batch from it all works fine. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong. I know it has to be simple but my FORTRAN days are just beginning!
Cheers Pete.

Please make sure that you either begin your command prompt session through the shortcut under Start..Programs..Intel Software Development Tools..Intel Fortran Compiler 8.1..Build Environment for IA-32 Applications. Either that, or have your script call C:Program FilesIntelFortrancompiler80IA32BINifortvars.bat - this will make sure that the environment variables are set correctly. I do not recommend relying on system-wide environment variables, as this is an increasingly trouble-prone concept that Microsoft recommends against.

Thanks again steve... now works perfectly!
On a side topic, how do you change the name shown in postings? Mine is currently my email address, something I don't like being freely available on the web. I assume it is with the "Change Login ID" but I just get a message saying "an error has occured if I use this"

Let me know what you want to change it to, and I'll have it changed.
