vfproj file layout

Steve et al,

What is the possibility of having the contents of the "vfproj" project file laid out in a way similar to the "vcproj" files?

eg: instead of one long line

have

PreprocessorDefinitions="_DEBUG"

Culture="rcEnglishBritain"

ResourceOutputFileName="$(INTDIR)/$(InputName).res"/>

I find this easier to read and search for various options.

Just a thought.

Not likely, I'd say. The .vfproj file is not intended for user consumption, though I understand what you are trying to do. Most text editors I use don't really have a problem searching and displaying matches in long lines.

What I tend to do is go to the "Command Line" property page and look at the options listed. That won't tell you if an individual file has its own options, but more often than not it tells me what I want to know.

OK Steve,

It's just I have some perl scripts for processing our project files, throughout our source tree - switching options on or off etc. - which would have been easier (for me)if each option had its own line.

Oh well

Well, be prepared to have to keep tweaking the script. The format of the file and names of options are subject to change without notice.
