Frame capture ERROR, dx9 minor version

I am trying to get a frame capture running a DX9 application and I am getting an error.

Specifically it is:

"Invalid DX9 minor version: 3"

"Capture Failure"

I am running version 20.2.1593162144 of the graphics performance analyzer.

Any help on this is highly appreciated.

Thank You

fast_furious,

Hello. I am going to check with the Frame Analyzer folks to find out what the cause of that error is.

Meanwhile, in case they need more info - please click on the info button  on the top-right of Graphics Monitor and copy that info for me. I know you are using the latest GPA version, but the other info might be needed.

Thanks for the additional info. I am tracking down the right person to ask about frame capture.

We don't support DX9, so we don't guarantee results. But DX9 apps often work just fine in GPA, and hopefully we can track down the trigger for that error. I will let you know what I find out.

I've found the right GPA developer. He has asked for your binaries. If you can provide an executable that produces this error, he can trace the issue. If you want to send it in a private message, click the envelope on the top right of the page (next to the Help link) - send to me, Pamela_H_Intel.

And one more thing - does your NVidia GPU show in the System Analyzer HUD?HUDwithGPU.jpg

@Pamela_H_Intel

We do see the Nvidia graphics card in the HUD.

Thank You.

My devs are asking:

Could you please ask what graphics API does an app use? We suspect that it mixes Dx9 and Dx11.
