I am using an Intel Xeon 5500 in my desktop. Does anyone know how to determine the static or leakage power consumption of the processor? Is there any documentation on it that can at least tell me its range in watts?
I believe these can vary significantly within the specs, and may or may not be significantly lower than the max spec. Obviously, the CPU is only a small part of the total.
you can find the specs on ark.intel.com. what OS are you running? are you interested in power saving features of your CPU? btw... you could measure the power usage of your entire system with an externalpower meter. what exactly are you after?
I am working on Ubuntu 9.10 yeah, I am doing research in power and energy optimization. I have a wattsup pro power meter by which I can measure the whole system power and power on different frequencies. I just want to know the static power consumption somehow.
