Hi!
Could anyone please tell something about the performance of the IPP g729/g723 codecs in case they are used in the Intel P4-2.8GHz? How many simultaneous calls could be done with no voice quality degradation? Even very rough information is Ok!

Hi
The IPP5.0 G723.1a and IPP G729abperformance measured in MHz per RT channelon P4 2.8 GHz, Windows PX is as below:
G723.16300kbps - 24 (enc), 3 (dec) 5300kbps - 22 (enc), 3.2 (dec)
G729ab - 33 (enc), 12(dec)
Generally, the number of codecthis processorable to run sumultaniously is roughly equal to 2800 devided tothe codec speed in mhz. For example, as far as the duplex (enc+dec)G723.1 6300kbps takes24+3=27mhz, so the maximal number of RT duplex channelis about 100.Leaving 50% of CPU to user app you would have 50 duplex RT channels.
