I am getting emails, allegedly from Intel Customer Support, about a service request that I never made (as in fact I never made any such request). The email address is correct, but my name is misspelled. Answering the email has no effect.
Is this known spam ?

Adriaan, I am very sorry. It is not a spam, it is my mistake. Since this week all forum's threads automatically translated to the internal database and it seems I wrongly sent you the not needed notification.
