I installed 32 and 64b version of the IPP libraries as well as the sample code library. I theninstalled ICC.
The ipp samples were not compatible with the version of icc so I unsinstalled icc.
The ipps were originally installed in /opt/intel/ipp/... directory. The ipp directory was gone after the icc uninstall. I tried to reinstall the ipp libs but I received the message:
If you want to reinstall the Intel IPP 6.1 Update 6 for Linux* on Intel 64
architecture
please uninstall current version and run install script again.
However, since the directory is no longer there, i cannot uninstall the library.
Is there a workaround for this issue?
many thanks...

Requires a little research. Will get back to you. Note that on a Linux system the /opt/intel/ipp directory contains links to the actual files. The script might be looking at the actual files and not the links.

Hi,
After decompress the installation package, there are some rpm files. Possibly you can try to force RPM installation:
Go to rpm folder, use rpm to install the package:
#rpm --force -ivh --nodeps --ignorearch *.rpm
Thanks,
Chao

Glad to know it works. Welcome to here if you have questions/suggestions with Intel IPP.
Thanks,
Chao
