Hi Charles,
At this time, the Intel MPI Library does not support the Berkeley Lab Checkpoint Restart tool. We realize this is an important functionality and we do have an openfeature request regarding support in the near future.

I see that the "product brief" for Intel® Cluster Studio XE 2013 includes a bullet for BLCR support, which is confirmed by http://software.intel.com/en-us/intel-mpi-library (see the Features tab).
So, perhaps somebody at Intel could update the "official" answer of 06.04/2009 with some more current information.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for getting in touch with us. You're correct, starting with the latest version of the Intel® MPI Library 4.1, we provide official support for Berkeley Lab Checkpoint/Restart (BLCR). For more information on how that's enabled, check our documentation. The latest features for the library will always be listed on our official website: www.intel.com/go/mpi.
Please consider my response here to be the latest official version as of January, 2013 :)
Regards,
~Gergana
