Intel MPI oneAPI in Ubuntu 20.04 error

I have a current installation of the Intel oneAPI Basekit + HPCkit via repository servers, and something is bugging me (mainly if I need to compile large packages as PETSc) is that the mpiicc is throwing an error when invoked.

For instance:

rubem@rmondaini-hp:~$ mpiicc --version
/opt/intel/inteloneapi/mpi/2021.1-beta07//bin/mpiicc: 542: [: unexpected operator
icc (ICC) 2021.1 Beta 20200602
Copyright (C) 1985-2020 Intel Corporation. All rights reserved.

What causes this behavior? I am on an Ubuntu 20.04, and have seen this occurring in two different machines with similar software specs.

Hi,

Thanks for bringing up this issue to us.

We are able to reproduce the same on our end. However, you can still use mpiicc normally by ignoring that message and it works.

Regarding the message: We are forwarding your issue to the concerned team.

Please let us know if you face any further issues.

Thanks & Regards

Goutham
