Do anyone know how to convert an integer*4 to a byte or character*32 ?

These look like Fortran questions, but it is not clear what you intend. The Fortran CHAR() and ACHAR() intrinsics may or may not interest you. character*32 is f77 notation for a string of 32 characters.
