Unable to install Thread Profiler 3.1

I have the serial number for the Intel Software Development Products for Windows*, Education.

I am installing on a Windows 7 VM. I run into a problem attempting to install the Thread Profiler 3.1. The error message is, Please install VTune Performance Analyzer 8.0 or above on your system before installing Intel Thread Profiler 3.1. the installer then quits. I have already installed VTune Amplifier XE.

Is there a work around?

This might be answered more readily on the Amplifier/VTune XE forum. I suspect that the profiling facilities have changed enough that old profiler doesn't plug into new Amplifier, but I haven't had opportunity to become familiar with new versions.
