Can't Install Intel Optane

So, I've recently built a computer for a friend of mine and figured I'd try out Optane through his computer as sort of a guinea pig experiment. I downloaded the setup executable, ran it, and got a bios error. I updated the BIOS, and I get Unsupported BIOS mode.

I tried switching AHCI to Intel Rapid Storage Technology in the BIOS settings, but when I do this I get a BSOD for "Inaccesible Boot Drive." What can I do to fix this? I have a 7th gen Core i5 processor and the Asus Prime B250M-A motherboard, running Windows 10 64-bit.

Sounds like your BIOS is in legacy mode (aka CSM enabled or set to Auto). Disable this and try again, you may need to reinstall your os or follow the MS guide: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/14286.converting-windows-bios-installati... https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/14286.converting-windows-bios-installati...

Hello Warysaur,

Thanks for posting in our community.

We understand the system is no longer booting up after you tried to install Intel® Optane™ Technology software. At this point, could you please let us know the following:

-Type of hard drive or SSD you want to accelerate? (Include model if possible)

-Please share the installation logs, you can get them from the actual software when you receive the error

-If you can't get the logs from there, please go to C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Intel\Logs

-Go to this https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows-?product=91... link to get the full system specs (Download the file and attach the log).

We will be waiting for your response.

Regards,
