I know only 2 series can use it as an accelerator for other hard drives, but if I only want to use it as a 16GB/32GB SSD which I can store some small files in, can it be formated like an SSD on X99/C612 chipsets? And is it bootable? Thanks.

Hello Kagamine_Rin,
The Intel® Optane™ Memory has not been validated for this purpose, in theory, it should work as long as your motherboard does support NVMe 3.0 X2.
