Does optane memory support X99/C612 chipset?

I know only 2 series can use it as an accelerator for other hard drives, but if I only want to use it as a 16GB/32GB SSD which I can store some small files in, can it be formated like an SSD on X99/C612 chipsets? And is it bootable? Thanks.

Hello Kagamine_Rin,

The Intel® Optane™ Memory has not been validated for this purpose, in theory, it should work as long as your motherboard does support NVMe 3.0 X2.

Here are the supported chipsets to be used as a caching technology:
