I have a couple of optane devices in a TrueNAS server. One of them is generating errors. (see below)
Does anyone have any idea what this means? From time to time I get a new warning about a new error.
I am going to reseat the board and see if that's the issue. The device is acting as an L2ARC (somewhat superflous) and SLOG so not critical if it fails

Hello, NugentS.
Thank you for posting in the Intel Community Support forums.
I received your thread regarding the errors reported from your Intel® Optane™ SSD 900P, I will be glad to assist you.
If you are referring to the "Error Information Log Entries", those details are informational and not an indication of something wrong happening with the device, it works as a type of log for errors that occurred during internal controller processes.
There do not seem to be critical errors based on that same report, in the following link you can find the attributes and values that we monitor:
- Intel® SSDs: Important SMART Attribute Indicators: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000055367/memory-and-storage.html
- Instructional video: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000057393/memory-and-storage.html
The firmware could be updated to the latest version, from 0325 to 0480, but besides that, I do not see any issues. You can follow the instructions in the video to use the Intel Memory and Storage Tool to perform the update, but this may not be possible if they are used as NAS as the tool cannot detect them.
If you have any questions, please let me know, I will follow up on April 23rd or we can schedule a different date if necessary.
Best regards,
Bruce C.

At some point I will have to remove the devices and see if I can update them - but in the short term as you say its not possible as the Intel software won't run on Free-BSD
Thanks for the reply though
