Using Optane memory as RAM

Hello everybody.

I want to buy Intel Optane memory and can't understand the answer to my questions.

Can Intel Optane DC SSD such as this act as RAM?

On the one hand, it's written that 3D XPOINT technology is responsible for enabling this option (against NAND-FLASH memory which cannot provide error-free access to memory)

On the other hand, I read that only Optane DC DIMM is able to act as RAM. This option is more expansive and requires Intel Xeon 2nd generation.

I know this is not RAM, the question is if it can act as Volatile ram in addition to being persistent memory.
