Hi sga263,
Thank you for posting in the Intel® communities.
According to the information provided, I can see that your Intel® Optane™ Memory is indeed recognized by the system but it has a partition (H:) so it’s recognized as a regular drive. You have to clean the module’s data in order to set it up correctly.
Additionally, I can also see that your primary drive has multiple partitions besides the C: partition. I’m not sure if you will be able to setup the module and paring it with your primary drive if you have the other partitions. I haven’t tested a configuration like this so I’m not sure about the proper functionality. You can try it, but keep in mind that it may be possible that you will have to delete those partitions too if the issue is still happening.
Anyhow, please try first cleaning the Intel® Optane™ Memory data by following this process:
- Open the command prompt as Administrator.
- Run the command diskpart.
- Run the command list disk. Please take note of the ID associated to the Intel® Optane™ Memory.
- Run the command select disk <ID>. Make sure to use the ID from previous step.
- Run the command clean all. This will start the cleaning process on the Intel® Optane™ Memory. The process will delete all data so make sure you are selecting the correct unit.
Once the process is complete, please try to setup the module again from the application.
I’ll be waiting for your response.
Have a nice day.
Regards,
