I have been using an Intel Optane 900P 480GB PCI-E as boot drive for several years. Recently I upgraded to an Intel Core Ultra system and also bought an Intel Optane 905P 1.5TB U.2 (with a U.2 to PCI-E adapter), planning to upgrade the system drive too. But the new 905P was never recognized by the BIOS or the Windows at all no matter what I did. I tried to plug it in different slots, tried different adapters, with no luck. The good old 900P still worked like a charm in the new system. What could be the causes? Thanks for the help.
Specs for the new system:
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 7 265K
Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX Z890-A GAMING WIFI
RAM: Crucial Pro DDR5-5600 48GBx4 (BIOS set it to DDR5-4400)
VGA: Integrated Graphics
Power: Seasonic Focus GX-850
