I am currently using Quartus 21.1 Lite Edition and I believe there is a name change of ModelSim-Altera to Questa Intel FPGA. Furthermore, there is no such directory as C:\intelFPGA\16.1\modelsim_ase\win32aloem in my computer, and the closest path I found was C:/intelFPGA_lite/21.1/questa_fse/win64. I filled this in for my Options > EDA Tool Options > Questa Intel FPGA path setting, and I can successfully compile my circuit.
However, I got this error while running a University SWF functional waveform simulation:
Unable to checkout a license. Make sure your license file environment variable (e.g., LM_LICENSE_FILE)
is set correctly and then run 'lmutil lmdiag' to diagnose the problem.
Unable to checkout a license. Vsim is closing.
** Error: Invalid license environment. Application closing.
The FAQ page for my course that uses Quartus says I can try deleting `-novopt` option in the Simulation > Simulation Settings, which I did and made no difference.
I found this post: https://community.intel.com/t5/Programmable-Devices/Licensing-error-in-simulation-How-can-I-fix-it/m-p/718654, but it was for Quartus 18. How do I solve this?

Hi Power_tile,
Thank you for using Intel FPGA Community Forum.
To understand further, can you share;
1) LM_LICENSE_FILE value
2) MGLS_LICENSE_FILE value
Thanks!

Sorry, but where can I find these values? They don't seem to be in my environmental variables.
