Messaging Improvements?

I want to suggest (1) adding group messaging and (2) adding sending attachments/pics but was wondering if there were technical reasons why this isn't already offered.  Is it impossible to do?  I'm thinking the app only supports SMS and not MMS but not sure why you only went that far.
