Can RAID controller be changed without total reinstall of O/S?

Have Intel SRCZCRX RAID 1 controller and it has failed. Out of warranty. Have the server up and running on 1 drive, no RAID. If I replace controller with another of the same model (if I can find) or a compatible model (Intel of course) will I be able to re mirrow drives and repair the O/S or will I have to start from scratch?

Urgent reply needed.

Thanks

If you replace it with another SRCZCRX, or any RAID card from the same family (SRCU42X, ROMBU42E, SRCU42E, SRCU41L, SRCS16, SRCS28X), the card will automatically see the existing configuration, and give you an option to import the configuration from the drives.

However, all those RAID cards went end-of-life about the same time, so I suspect they'd all be equally hard to find.
