Modular Server Storage Controller - Redundancy Check

According to http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/mfsys25/sb/CS-028605.htm the Storage Controller is running a so-called redundancy check once a month.

This check is running for almost 3 days (14x600 SAS HDD 15k - 10 LUNs) and slowing IO perfomance to a crawl. IO latency goes up from 2-5ms to 200 ms average. We need to disable or cancel this jobs since this performance impact of a "Background Taks" over 3 days each month is not accepable.

Please help!
