Hi
I'm having a problem. My provider wants to standardize the CPU frequency at the same speed (2.4 GHz). This task has already been done at the hardware level, but it's not fully reflected at the operating system level. For example, when running: "cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep MHz | sort | uniq -c", differences in CPU frequency are still visible. Now, there's the issue of cores/threads, and in the image, I assume they are threads and not cores (already standardized at the hardware level).
Intel(R) Xeon(R) Platinum 8260 CPU @ 2.40GHz
OS version is RedHat 8.10.
Model servers: Lenovo SR850P, 950 and 650

From the numbers, I assume that your server has 4 processor and Hyperthreading is enabled. Xeon 8260 is a 24 core processor. With hyperthreading enabled (by default), it support 48 logical cores per processor. /proc/cpuinfo shows that there is 192 CPU .... that is 192 logical cores. If your question is ... there is still 1 logical CPU is not running at 2.4GHz. You need to ensure that the CPU power saving feature such as C-State (C6, C1) and Speed Step Technology are all disabled at BIOS level.
Then all CPU cores of the server will run at base frequency - 2.4GHz.

Hello Francisco_Guerrero,
Greetings!
Thank you for posting in Intel community Forum.
We understand that you have a concern related to the standardization of the CPU frequency.
Kindly let us know if the details provided above ( ensuring that the CPU power saving feature such as C-State (C6, C1) and Speed Step Technology are all disabled at BIOS level) are helpful.
Also, we see that this processor is a tray processor. Hence, as these processors are shipped with the system ( Lenovo), we request you to check this further with Lenovo itself as they will be best equipped to assist you with this.

Hi
I tested it on a Lenovo SR950P model with 8 sockets, turning off C-state and turbo mode. The result is better seen in image B.

I'll continue testing on different models in the coming days and update the progress.
