S2600STB - disable SFP+ within device manager

Hello,

I'm running Win Server 2019 Std on my S2600STB with latest BIOS and BMC firmware (02.01.0016 / 2.88.71773d70 / 1.83 / 04.01.04.804). I do have the Intel® RMM4 Lite key installed.

Device Manager shows two SFP+ nics which are integrated in PCH according to your article (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000031194/server-products/server-boards.html)

I don't have the SFP+ riser card so I don't want these SFP+ nics showing up within Windows. I've tried to update the X722 firmware (via WIN and EFI!) using s2600st_nvmupdatepackage_v4.10 as described in the link above but I receive an error.

What am I missing? Any ideas?

Thank you for contacting Intel Customer Support.

We understood that you have tried the steps from the link given from your end.

Alternatively, you can use the BIOS setup to view or change the system configuration options, including the built-in devices. 

You may need to access the BIOS setup and look for the option to disable the SFP+ device.

I was not able to find the option to disable SFP+ within BIOS or in the linked BIOS User Guide PDF. Please advise.

To clarify the issue, the behavior of 4 NICs is expected. There will be no changes at this point as 4 NICs are expected to show up on the Control Panel.

The STP motherboard has indeed, 4 network controllers, two 10 Gbit Ethernet ports, and two SPF+ ports. However, in order to have access to the SPF+ ones, a riser option is required.

The 4 controllers are managed by the PCH and they are always present.

You are advised to see section 6.4 on the TPS document for more details.

Since there are no functional impact and the product has reached end of life, we don't have engineering resource to work on the issue. 

Thus, we would like to confirm if we could close the thread.
