Lenovo P720 Type 30BB - VROC RAID works flawlessly
Chipset: Intel C621
CPU: Intel Xeon Platinum 8160;
Windows 11 Professional 25H2
Intel VROCSTANMOD (Black) 2337 installed
ASUS HYPER M.2 x16 Gen 4 HBA
(VMD RAID10: 4 @ Samsung 990 PRO 2T NVMe)
SATA RAID10 : 4 @ samsung 2T 870 SATA SSD
Everything functions as expected. (i.e. setup is correct... very similar to P520... see below)
...............
HOWEVER: the primary reason for these questions;
Lenovo P520 type 30BF
Chipset: Intel C422
CPU: Intel Xeon W-2129
Windows 11 Pro for Workstations 25H2
Intel VROCSTANMOD (Black) 1721 installed
ASUS HYPER M.2 x16 Gen 4 HBA
(VMD RAID10: 4 @ Samsung 990EVO PRO 1T NVMe)
SATA RAID created with 2 @ Samsung SATA SSDs; Functions as expected
HOWEVER: Windows 11 does not "See" VMD RAID 10 drive created.
SATA RAID0 functions as expected
Among VROCSTANMOD "versions" (Black label);
what is the difference between:
1653
1721 (installed in Lenovo P520: BIOS/VMD creates RAID, Windows 11 does not "see" it)
1724,
1734
2337 (currently installed in Lenovo P720... functions well)
Exchanged 1721 for 2337 keys between P520 and P720; no change.
Also, swapped ASUS HBA from P720 to P520; same problem
Stumped... (not sure if I am using the correct terminology; tried to be thorough with explanation)
Thanks for any useful information,
John

Greetings!
Thank you for posting in the Intel Community. We acknowledge receipt of your concern and want to assure you that assisting you is our top priority. To effectively troubleshoot the issue you're experiencing, we kindly request the following additional information:
1. Could you please confirm whether the VROC key was purchased separately or came pre-installed with the system?
2. If the key was purchased separately, could you provide the source of purchase (e.g., a website link or vendor details)?

Both ebay.de and Lenovo: VROCSTANDMOD 1738 (green), P/N FRU: 01YW012 special offer; $10.
Aagain:
What is the difference of VROCSTANMOD;
1738 (green)
1653 (black)
1721 (black)
1724 (black)
1734 (black)
1738 (black)
Some have out-of-hand responded with: "They're all the same";
Why different numbers, labels and colors??? ("premium" as red/pink is understood)

VROC keys purchased separately, either via Lenovo-authorized ebay germany sellers;
Lenovo: VROCSTANDMOD 1738 (green), P/N FRU: 01YW012 special offer; $10.
Again:
What is the difference beteewn VROCSTANMOD;
1738 (green)
1653 (black)
1721 (black)
1724 (black)
1734 (black)
1738 (black)
Some have out-of-hand responded with: "They're all the same";
Most of these numbers are extracted from Lenovo parts website. (aka "OEM")
Why different numbers, labels and colors??? ("premium" as red/pink is understood)
