MKL 7.0 and AMD Opteron

What is the party line on supoort for this processor?
Does it work at all and if so what level of optimization
ensues.

Athlon is supported at all levels of optimization, but architecture switch dependent optimizations (like SSE) are at your risk. It should be supported as a generic or default pentium compatible CPU. 7.1 compiler libraries are known to fail on AMD when -xK is attempted, due to a bug which was corrected recently in 8.x.

MKL is designed to run on all Intel architecture compatible systems - which includes AMD* Athlon* based systems. However, we have only optimized and tested the code for Intel processor based systems. If there is a problem with the library not functioning correctly don't hesitate to submit an issue at Intel premier support.

AMD64 and EM64T are compatible, but as far as I can tell there are no libraries included in the MKL 7.0 distribution that support EM64T. Is there a timeline for including support for this platform?

The Intel MKL for Windows* version 7.0.1 with Intel EM64T support is now availableat theIntelPremier support site and the Linux version is in final validation. We have not made an announcement on the website or sent notifications because we are waiting for the Linux version to release. But since you asked... I thought I'd letthose on the forum know first.
