Dear Sir intel_admin MartyG
Thank you very much sir for the informations.
I just want to confirm if this SR300 camera model can scan the different sizes of necklaces? I mean is the angle wide enough to cover such items?
Thank you once again.
Best Regards,
Eduard Yaco

The SR300 has been used to scan objects such as a shoe and small soft toys on a turntable, so it should be able to fit jewelry into its view.

One issue however is that if the object is highly specular (eg mirror-like) then the reflections may confuse the stereo algorithm and give incorrect depth information. Specular surfaces will also bounce the laser light off in a direction where the cameras can't see it. This problem can however be solved by "dusting" the surface with something to provide a reflection, like talcum powder. There are also special sprays for laser scanning that can be used (these sprays are designed to wash off with water; for jewelry ultrasonic cleaning afterwards would work).
But if you have very fine jewelry the spatial resolution may not be adequate.
