Intel RealSense SDK Runtime fails to install.

i have purchased a creative blasterX senz3D for my OBS stream as it had background removal capabilities.

i re installed OBS with the realsense addon but it fails to install the real sense SDK.

i get to the part where it asks me what components i would like to install and i select them all. (also tried with just the components already checked)

then im greeted with this Screenshot (19).png

the programme continues to install. once i open OBS the Intel(R) RealSense(TM) 3D Camera GreenScreen option is available but no image appears once i select it.

i have checked my device manager and all the drivers appear in the right place .Screenshot (21).png

im pulling my hair out trying to get this to work.

can anyone help me please.

It is a good idea to try the camera in another USB 3.0 port if you have one on the machine, or try it on a different PC if you also have another. There is no way to detect in advance whether a particular PC will have problems with the camera or not, unfortunately.

If you do decide to return the Razer camera, it should be returned to the retailer that you purchased it from.

fororYour drivers look okay and you have correctly installed them as the first step before secondly attempting to install the SDK software after that.

The problem is likely with the SDK installation. 2016 R2 has long been retired but you could still download it with a direct link. The link became broken recently though, beginning the SDK download and then failing shortly after. So it is possible that SDK R2 2016 is unavailable for ever now, sadly.

Fortunately a newer version called 2016 R3 is still available, though it is more awkward to install because you first have to install a core Essentials module for basic image processing functions and then further components as the optional extra features you need. It is possible you may only need the Essentials core module for green screening.

The Essentials module of 2016 R3 can be downloaded from the link below, in the Downloads section about halfway down the page.

thank you for taking the time to reply

so i downloaded the 2016R3 and installed the essentials, all went well until i checked the device manager, for some reason the drivers had changedScreenshot (23).png

there is no longer a virtual driver nor is there an imaging drop down.

i specifically bought this for background removal during streams. now intel are no longer supporting R3 camera drivers for real sense, should i just return the camera and buy an actual green screen, the cam cost me £150.

or is there another software that i could use that im not aware of?

If you have problems with with obtaining R3 that way, a list of direct download links to launch the file download in your browser are here:

Sometimes the Virtual Driver does disappear but the camera still works. Also, the drivers may relocate themselves to the Camera section like they did for you. What it does depends on the particular PC, usually. Could you try typing 'camera explorer' into the text-box at the bottom of your Windows screen please (next to the button where you shut the PC down). Hopefully this will show you an app for testing the SR300 camera called Camera Explorer. This will help you to quickly find out if the drivers are still working okay.
