So originally I had a i5-7400, then I upgraded to a i5-8400. So currently I have a one fan liquid cooler installed, and with that cooler I was able to get 80 Celsius on really hardcore gaming, which is pretty good.
So fast forward, I install the 8400, and now I get 80 Celsius from hardcore opening my browser. I don't understand what could cause such a significant heat jump. Everything was installed professionally and I have reassured that is was correct.
I've tried a lot with my cooler with my cooler. I've tried push vs pull, reapply thermal paste, un-dust the fans, wipe the radiator down, and after all of that I lost 5 Celsius for like 2 days... So I have happily eliminated my cooler, so I can only assume that it is a processor issue, but I don't see how something that is like a year younger will cause a 20 Celsius impact. Any advice on finding a solution?
