My intel Realsense SR300 is turning off on its own

This computer has a Intel core i5-7400 CPU 3.00 Hz processor with 8.00 GB of RAM.

I can pretty much use the intel Realsense sr300 like a regular camera, but when i try to use the depth characteristics at the intel viewer, it automatically shuts down.

Also, when i'm trying the samples i can use my camera as a cursor, but from time to time it shuts itself down.

I have also done all the steps listed here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000023560/emerging-technologies/intel-realsense-technology.html except for the USB hub one.

Also, something that seems weird to me is how it appears at device manager. It appears under "camera" instead of "imaging devices", where i have seen at other places that all three of these drivers are under "imaging drivers"

I really need this camera to work! it used to be fine before, but now it has these kind of problems.

The SR300 driver locations can move around depending on the particular PC. Sometimes they are all under Imaging Devices and sometimes they are divided between Imaging Devices and Camera. So if this occurs, it is not in itself a sign that something is wrong.

I identified a workaround for disconnections in the RealSense Viewer earlier this year that you could try. It involves reducing the 'Laser Power' option to its minimum before activating the depth stream. The process is described in the link below.

Thanks for replying!

I already tried that. I set it on 15, 3, 5, 1... and the camera just keeps shutting down. Sometimes, the Realsense Viewer will suddenly close.

Any other suggestion? Pretty please?

All three of your drivers (Depth, RGB and Virtual) are correctly present..

Typically, when a camera has worked before in Windows and then suddenly doesn't one day, it is because a Windows update has occurred that broke something. In this case though, if the RealSense Viewer is correctly showing the name of the camera at the top of the options side-panel then it is probably not the drivers or Windows at fault.

If you can use the RGB mode in the RealSense Viewer then it is probably not an issue with the Windows privacy settings preventing access to the camera.

Can you confirm please that you have the camera plugged into a USB 3 port? Unlike the 400 Series camera models, the SR300 and SR305 models require a USB 3 port and their RealSense depth and IR functions will not work in a USB 2.0 port.
